Timberland Women's: Moccasin & Boat Shoes

Timberland Caska Moccasin, SGD 149

Timberland Classic 2-eye Amherst Boatshoe, SGD 179

We would never have expected to say this -- not with female shoes -- but these Boat Shoes from Timberland are very smart and technically competent: (1) They are made with the hardiest leather, (2) Has a breathable interior that adjusts to climate, and (3) uses an out-sole that grips tight and keeps you from slipping on wet floors.

More than anything, we like how elegant and timeless the boat-shoe always looks. They switch easily from a chic pair of pants in the office, to swingy cotton dresses for city holidays. Speaking of which, try Melbourne, Beijing, or Amsterdam!

These are city shoes made with rocket-science intelligence, and we like that very much.

Alphabet bags: Put your stamp on it

We really find it quite cute to carry around something that displays our initials, a loved one's, or of anything that is dear to our hearts (and that only we would know!). If you're liking the idea too, find your initial in Tote form or the cutest Purses, both at SGD 29.

Plus you will like the newest addition to the alphabet family: Travel Pouches, SGD 35, made with laminated natural cotton to guard against scruffs and stains.

TOMS Women's: You are what you buy

Do you look at these shoes and see a trend? We don't and hope you won't too! After all, trends are but great ideas. And when enough of us put on something, it naturally appears to be a trend.

But what it really is (and what maybe even you don't realise), is when so many of us sport a pair of original TOMS on our feet, it's a united showing of our support for their very cool formula of philanthropy-meets-business. Something very difficult to achieve and even harder to maintain: TOMS not only does it with absolute integrity, they do it with so much good style.

So we hope you will pick these up, put them on, know the TOMS Movement by heart, and tell everyone around you the real reason to why you have a pair of TOMS on.

TOMS Men: The perfect weekend slip-ons

The Jack Purcell pop-up: Hello player!

We have got many great things coming up in store recently -- this is yet another!

To time with their Fall 2011 collection, Converse has just set up a pop-up corner at Rockstar to spread the love for Jack Purcell, the iconic badminton shoes that changed casual style forever.

Named after and designed by Jack Purcell, the world champion Badminton player in the 30s, Purcell almost became a stock broker at one point in time. He didn't in the end, and Purcell went on to not only beat top players all over the world, he remained unbeaten until his retirement in 1945.

To celebrate Jack -- both the person and the shoes -- Converse has been setting up shop in selected cities, including this very interesting one in Paris.

Back home and over here at Rockstar, you will see a tight selection of the new Fall colours and also Helen (named after Purcell's wife) specially created for women. No matter the original or the Helen, the Jack Purcell is an honest everyday footwear for the everyday Rockstars we all are.

Whether you cook, write, draw, repair, talk, analyse or swing a racket for a living.

Timberland Men's: The Abington line

Something very special came our way last week.

Timberland, the outdoor footwear specialists we have come to really endorse, just launched an exciting line with us: The Abington Collection, a premium extension from the Timberland main line, features exceptional leathers and suedes and even Vibram soles (the very same soles that have conquered Mount Everest).

There is a special sense of refinement and ruggedness to the Abington series that we really like. Particularly how these shoes display dignity on the working men's feet.

Available only at Rockstar and absolutely no where else (not even Timberland boutiques), these shoes are very limited in quantity. The Moccasins come in 3 colours, and are priced at SGD 259, while the Brogue Oxfords come in 2 colours and are at SGD 279. These shoes deliver sure footing in both wet or dry conditions, so you can walk with ease.
